MN VEX U Regional Qualifying Tournament

8:30 AM – Pits, Team Check-In, & Inspections Opens.

9:00 AM – Team Check-In Closes.  All VEX U teams need to be checked in by 9:00 AM or in contact with the Event Partner.  Teams that have not checked in by this time will not be allowed to compete.

9:30 AM – Robot Inspection Closes.  All robots who have not passed inspection will not be allowed to compete.  Teams are encouraged to pre-inspect robots using the inspection checklist prior to arrival.

9:45 AM – Opening Ceremony.  All team members and coaches are asked to attend opening ceremony.  All action in the pit area will stop.

10:00 AM – Qualification Rounds & Skills Begins.

12:00 PM – Lunch.  No food can be brought in.  Teams are encouraged to eat at a nearby restaurant.

1:00 PM – Qualification Rounds & Skills Resume.

2:00 PM – Qualification Matches End, Skills will Close After the Last Qualifying Match.

2:15 PM – VEX U Elimination Rounds.

3:00 PM – Awards & Closing. 

V5RC State Championship

NOTE: Teams may visit local restaurants for supper.  Outside food may not be brought into the River’s Edge Convention Center.

3:00 PM – V5RC Pits, Team Check-In, & Inspections Open.  Be sure to check your team in and turn in your team’s engineering notebook at the team check-in table located outside the pits.  Get your robots inspected early to avoid long lines.  Coaches, please pre-inspect your team’s robot using the RECF Robot Inspection Checklist.

4:00 PM – V5RC Team Check-In Closes.  All V5RC teams need to be checked in by 4:00 PM Thursday or in contact with the Event Partner, Katie Frank.  Teams that have not checked in by this time will not be allowed to compete.

4:30 PM – Drive Team Meeting.  All drive team members and coaches should report to Terry Haws A.

5:00 PM – V5RC Inspection Closes.  All robots who have not passed inspection will not be allowed to compete.  Teams are encouraged to pre-inspect robots using the inspection checklist prior to arrival.

5:30 PM – Opening Ceremony in Terry Haws A.  All V5RC team members and coaches are asked to attend opening ceremony.  All action in the pit area will stop.  If your team is one of the first 3 qualifying matches, your robot should be placed on the field prior to opening ceremony.  If your team is in qualifying matches 4-6, your robot should be placed on the queuing tables.

5:55 PM – Qualification Rounds & Skills Opens.  VRC High School matches will occur in Terry Haws A while VRC Middle School matches will occur in Terry Haws B.  One paper copy of the qualification matches will be provided to each team.  To stay on schedule, please have your team on the queuing table 5 minutes before the scheduled match start time.  If a team is not present or ready and we are ahead of schedule, we will wait to start the match.  We will not wait for teams past the scheduled start time.

8:05 PM – End Qualification Rounds & Skills.  All action will stop and leave the River’s Edge Convention Center.  It is recommended that teams take their robots home/back to the hotel for the night.

8:30 PM – Venue Closes.  All teams must be gone by this time.

V5RC State Championship

8:00 AM – Pits Open and Catered Food Options in Glenn Carlson Opens.

8:15 AM – Parade of Teams Line Up.  Organizations/schools by program level will line up in the hallway between the pits and the competition areas in numerical order.  Due to space limitations, please restrict student participation in the parade of teams to no more than 1-2 students per team.  Coaches may also walk with their teams this year.

8:30 AM – Opening Ceremony and Parade of Teams in Terry Haws A.  All V5RC team members and coaches are asked to attend opening ceremony.  All action in the pit area will stop.  If your team is in one of the first 6 qualifying matches of the day, please have your robot ready prior to opening ceremony.

9:30 AM – Qualification Rounds & Skills Resume

12:15 PM – Lunch.  No food can be brought in.  Teams are encouraged to eat at a nearby restaurant.

1:00 PM – Guest Speaker in Terry Haws A.  All V5RC team members and coaches are encouraged to listen to the guest speaker and see who is awarded Mentor and Volunteer of the Year.  All action in the pit area will stop.

1:30 PM – Qualification Rounds & Skills Resume

3:45 PM – End of Qualification Rounds.  Skills fields will close after the last qualification match.  Teams are encouraged to visit Skills early to avoid long lines.

3:45 PM – Alliance Selection.  16 alliances (32 teams) will compete in the elimination rounds.

4:15 PM – Elimination Brackets Begin.  Per the Over Under Game Manual, Elimination Matches Round of 16 through the Semifinals will be “Best of 1”.  The Finals matches will be played as “Best of 3”.

5:30 PM – Awards and Closing

6:00 PM – Venue Closing.  Volunteers are needed to help convert the venue from V5RC to IQ.  Sign up using the volunteer sign up website.

VIQRC State Championship (Optional Evening)
