SCTCC STEAM Camps

Aviation Camp is a partnership between the National Center for Autonomous Technologies (NCAT) and SCTCC.   Students in 4th to 12th grade have the exciting opportunity to explore the fundamentals of flight and aerospace technology through hands-on learning and practical activities. Participants will be introduced to topics such as drones and autonomous systems programming, giving them a glimpse into the future of aviation. Middle & High School age students will engage in traditional skills like drilling and riveting sheet metal, learning essential engineering techniques, and understanding the importance of safety within the aviation field. This camp is designed to spark curiosity, build technical skills, and inspire students’ interest in the diverse and dynamic world of aviation and aerospace.

During this 2-day camp, campers will be introduced to common kitchen tools, learn the craft of learn soup-making basics and make pasta and sauces from scratch.
Campers will also take a field trip to the Gorecki Center at the College of Saint Benedict. This camp is a partnership between SCTCC and CSB/SJU.

Over the course of a week, campers will explore a variety of manufacturing aspects with hands on activities related to CNC & Advanced Machining, Mechanical Design Engineering Technology, Robotics & Industrial Controls, and Welding/Fabrication. Campers will go on industry field trips and complete a project to take home.

S.T.A.R. Camp (Students, Technology, And Robots) is a summer camp for students in 3-6th grade. The students work in teams to build, program, engineer, and operate a VEX robot. Campers will learn how robots and technology work by building robots for a game challenge, build their confidence with technical skills, and work in teams to develop life and employability skills.  Additionally, campers will get a brief introduction to manufacturing and tour SCTCC Manufacturing lab space.  They will have fun showing off their skills at the end of the week with a friendly competition! The families of campers are encouraged to come and cheer them on!

Introduction to Tools Camp is a summer camp for students in 4th-12th grade. The students are exposed to commonly used tools.
